WHY WASHING & WAXING YOUR RV MATTERS

Protect Your Investment

Your RV is constantly exposed to sun, dirt, road grime, and environmental contaminants. Without proper care, the exterior can quickly become dull, oxidized, and damaged.

At Top Tier RV Services, we follow a multi-step process to properly restore and protect your RV’s exterior.

WASHING

Regular washing removes dirt, bugs, road grime, and environmental contaminants that slowly break down your RV’s finish.

Without routine washing, contaminants can:

• Stain fiberglass and gelcoat
• Accelerate oxidation
• Damage decals and seals
• Cause premature fading

A clean RV also helps preserve resale value and keeps your rig looking its best on the road.

Our Washing Process

Our RV washing process is designed to safely clean large surfaces without scratching or damaging the finish.

Step 1 — Pre-Rinse
We rinse the RV thoroughly to remove loose debris and dust.

Step 2 — Foam & Hand Wash
Using RV-safe soaps and soft brushes, we gently wash the entire surface including:

• Fiberglass panels
• Roofline edges
• Windows
• Trim
• Storage doors

Step 3 — Bug & Stain Removal
Front caps and high-impact areas are treated to remove stubborn bugs and road film.

Step 4 — Final Rinse
We rinse the RV thoroughly to remove all soap and residue.

The result is a clean, streak-free finish ready for protection.

WAXING

Wax acts as a protective barrier between your RV’s exterior and the elements.

When fiberglass or gelcoat is exposed to sun and weather without protection, it begins to dry out and oxidize.

Wax helps:

• Protect against UV damage
• Repel dirt and water
• Preserve decals and graphics
• Maintain a glossy finish
• Slow down oxidation

Without waxing, the surface gradually becomes dull and chalky.

Our Waxing Process

After washing, we apply a professional RV wax designed for fiberglass and gelcoat.

Step 1 — Surface Prep
The RV is inspected and wiped down to ensure the surface is clean and ready for wax.

Step 2 — Wax Application
Wax is applied evenly by hand or machine to ensure full coverage.

Step 3 — Cure & Buff
Once the wax sets, it is carefully buffed to reveal a deep shine.

Step 4 — Final Inspection
We check the surface for complete coverage and a consistent finish.

This protective layer helps your RV stay cleaner longer and maintain its appearance.

Oxidation occurs when UV rays break down the gelcoat surface of fiberglass.

Over time this causes the RV to appear:

• Chalky
• Faded
• Dull
• Rough to the touch

Severe oxidation can make even a newer RV look old.

Simple washing or waxing cannot fix oxidation because the damaged layer must first be removed.

Our Oxidation Removal Process

Oxidation removal restores shine by carefully polishing away the damaged layer of gelcoat.

Step 1 — Surface Cleaning
The RV is washed to remove all dirt and debris.

Step 2 — Compounding
Using professional compounds and polishing pads, we remove the oxidized layer of gelcoat.

This step restores color and gloss.

Step 3 — Polishing
After compounding, the surface is polished to refine the finish and enhance shine.

Step 4 — Protective Wax
Once oxidation is removed, wax is applied to seal and protect the restored surface.

This process can make a dramatic difference, often restoring the RV’s original shine.
